Full Circle Food is a labour of love, co-founded by Jessica Ellis and Gina Sulprizio – two longtime friends with different backgrounds and one big thing in common: a deep belief that food can be a powerful force for healing, connection, and care.
Two friends. Two stories. One shared mission: to nourish and support women and families.
While working as a private chef in Europe, Jess was asked by a pregnant friend to prepare some freezer meals as a baby shower gift. Being Jess, she approached the request with thoughtfulness and love. It also set her off on an inquiry: was there a ‘right’ way to eat in the postpartum period? How could food help her friend’s body heal and recover and provide sustenance to her baby?
Meanwhile, back in Cape Town, Gina – mom of two and a decade-deep in the tech world – was wrestling with the chaos of early motherhood and the painful truth that the freezer aisle had nothing close to what she actually needed. Between sleep deprivation and the demands of newborn life, home-cooked meals often gave way to bland freezer lasagna. Nourishing? Not quite.
In early 2024, Jess and Gina joined forces, blending their skills and shared passion to build something new. By May, Full Circle Food had sold its first meal package and demand hasn’t slowed since.
Because it turns out, Gina wasn’t the only one fed up with the frozen aisle. Moms want more. They deserve more. And Full Circle Food is here to deliver.
Every meal that leaves our kitchen is a small act of revolution. Yes, it’s deeply nourishing. Yes, it’s packed with nutrients. But most of all, it’s a reminder: you matter. You deserve to be fed and cared for too.
No one was meant to do parenthood alone. That’s why we’re here: to make deeply nourishing, postpartum-perfect meals just as convenient to get as grocery store shortcuts, but infinitely better for your body and spirit.
